December 22, 2014Donate a Coat to Community’s ‘Winter Warm-Up’ Comporium, CN2, Long’s Cleaners, and United Way Coat Collection Begins
January 5, 2015BREVARD, N.C. – ( January 05, 2015 ) – Comporium is holding a coat drive for new and gently used coats of all sizes during the month of January. Sharing House will ensure that these coats are distributed locally.
“We are heading into the coldest period of the year and Sharing House said they could use some coats, particularly in children’s sizes,” said Comporium General Manager Frank Porter. “The goal is to collect at least 25 coats, and Comporium will match by donating a brand new coat up to that amount.”
Porter said that anyone wishing to contribute could drop off coats at Comporium’s office at 190 East Main St.
“We will be diligently working to get the word out,” added Porter. “Warm clothing, shelter and food are necessities in life that no one should be without, especially children. We can’t tolerate that anyone in our area should have to suffer through the winter months without at least a warm coat, and this caring community can ensure that isn’t going to happen.”
