April 30, 2015FORT MILL, S.C. – ( April 08, 2015 ) – The Anne Springs Close Greenway will recognize its first completed capital project from the “Nature Needs You” capital campaign with a ribbon cutting and York County Regional Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on Apr. 9 at the new Comporium Amphitheater. The event is planned to begin at 4p.m. at the amphitheater site near the Greenway’s Dairy Barn.
“The Comporium Amphitheater is a shining example of corporate and environmental stewardship,” said Ell Close, son of Anne Springs Close and board member of the Anne Springs Close Greenway. “Without partners like Comporium, projects like the Amphitheater would not be possible. We are proud to bring such a unique community asset to the region.”
The new amphitheater provides an outdoor entertainment venue that can be used for concerts and educational events, featuring a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. The facility, composed of natural wood and dark stonework, offers open-lawn seating and a large area that can accommodate picnics and group events.
“We at Comporium are deeply honored to have been extended the opportunity to support the Anne Springs Close Greenway’s new Amphitheater,” said Bryant Barnes. “Like the Springs-Close Family, our family has a deep love for this part of South Carolina and its natural resources,” added Barnes. “Comporium has a tradition of supporting organizations that focus on protecting the outdoors, and we applaud what is being done here for the enjoyment of this area’s citizens. This is simply a first class operation.”
