ROCK HILL, S.C. – ( June 01, 2015 ) – Comporium announced today that Tim Smoak has been promoted to vice president of business development, effective June 1.

Going forward, Smoak will make recommendations for strategic investments and play a key role in the development of strategic plans. His responsibilities will additionally include oversight of community and economic development activities. He will continue to establish pricing for complex business services. 

Smoak has been serving as the director of interconnection services for the past seven years. He has worked at Comporium since 2001 and has over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. 

A native of Walterboro, S.C., he earned master’s degree in economics from University of Oklahoma and an MBA with a dual concentration in finance and strategic leadership from Winthrop University. Smoak is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society for Economics.
