ROCK HILL, S.C. – (Dec. 28, 2016) – Comporium is pleased to announce the promotion of Shaun Barnes to Director, External Relations.  In his new capacity, Barnes will create and manage relationships with the communities served by Comporium through partnerships with businesses and organizations.

Barnes is also responsible for the corporation’s communication strategy; as director, he will serve as a liaison for regional news and community media organizations.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Media Services, Pamela Trimnal, Barnes will work closely with the marketing team to ensure the preservation of the Comporium brand.

A resident of York, S.C., Barnes is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  He joined Comporium in 2006 and has served in a variety of workgroups; such as home integration, regulatory affairs and community and economic development.

A native of South Carolina, Barnes is engrained in local community service efforts, including his service to the Comporium Pioneers as vice president of membership.  Barnes also serves as Chairman of the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Board of Directors for Historic Rock Hill, a member of the Board of Directors for the York County Community Foundation and a member of the Advisory Council of the York County Free Clinic.  Barnes is also an active member of First Assembly of God in Rock Hill.  His extensive involvement in the community will serve him well in his new role.
