October 18, 2016LANCASTER, S.C. – (Sept. 19, 2016) – Tim Hallman has been appointed manager and city executive for Comporium’s operations in Lancaster County, effective Aug. 29, it was announced today. Comporium developed the position to acknowledge the importance of the Lancaster County market, and its focus on delivering premium customer service in an increasingly competitive environment.
Formerly serving as residential services manager, Hallman is part of Comporium’s newly structured customer care unit, headed by Greg Austin, senior vice president, who is now responsible for the development and implementation of Comporium’s customer service strategy.
“Tim is a fixture in Lancaster and its surrounding communities and had informally stepped into this key leadership role in Lancaster and the surrounding communities,” said Matthew Dosch, executive vice president of customer operations and external affairs. “We created this new position because of the value Tim brings to both our customer base and to our company’s success. This formally places Tim as our chief advocate for Comporium customers, residential and business. He will continue to guide us on how to engage with the community through various relationships and activities.”
A native of the area, Hallman spent his 37-year career based in Lancaster. He first worked as a student part-time at Comporium in 1977; and, two years later, he joined the company as a frameman. After three years, he became a switchman, and in 1986 he served as a digital switching technician. In the early ‘90s, Hallman moved into residential customer service and was named as the residential services manager in 1994.
A graduate of Buford High, Hallman earned an associate degree from USC-Lancaster in 1978. In 1997, he completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
Long active in the community, Hallman has served in leadership roles with United Way of Lancaster County, the Lancaster Breakfast Rotary Club, Communities in Schools and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a trustee with the J. Marion Sims Foundation, and he is a board member of the USC-L Education Foundation and of the USC Board of Visitors for District 6. He is also serving on the Lancaster County Joint Recreation Commission for District 3.
He and his wife, Lisa, are parents of Justin and Jena and are active members at Unity ARP Church.
