September 28, 2015ROCK HILL, S.C. – (Sept. 2, 2015) – Comporium announced that it has completed the network upgrades necessary to increase its Internet speeds for broadband connections over its cable TV facilities.
“We’ve generated a lot of buzz about Zipstream, our ultra-fast gigabit Internet service for fiber optic neighborhoods and business parks,” said Comporium’s Matthew Dosch, executive vice president of customer operations and external affairs. “At the same time, we are not ignoring our Internet customers who have cable modem service.”
Comporium raised the upper limits of its three tiers of service to 15 Mbps (megabits per second), 60 Mbps and 100 Mbps from 12 Mbps, 25 Mbps and 50 Mbps, respectively. The increases affect nearly 61,000 customers in the company’s service areas in and surrounding Rock Hill, Fort Mill and Lancaster.
Dosch said that the speed increases are not accompanied by an increase in the monthly rates at this time.
“We’re not done, by any means,” said Dosch. “We’re already working on our next network upgrade plan, which will allow us to boost the speeds even further, where possible.”
