Comporium unveils new retail store full of innovative displays and interactive stations
BREVARD, NC (March 12, 2018) – A new way to shop for communication services is coming to Transylvania County. Comporium’s store, in downtown Brevard, has gotten a makeover—technology style! The store features innovative new product displays such as an interactive video wall with touch screen capability, a smart table with smart device demonstrations, and an all-new connected home simulator.
“We want to create a unique in-store experience for our customers,” said Comporium’s Matthew Dosch, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We don’t want you to just stop by and pay your bill, we want you to explore all there is to offer in the realm of internet, TV and home automation.”
A prominent feature of the store is the large, interactive video wall comprising three 50-inch monitors. Customers can browse through Comporium’s products and services and learn more about features. Along another wall is an interactive display of connected home devices such as cameras, smart thermostats and smart light bulbs that customers can control from apps on their tablet or smart phone.
This exciting renovation is just one of the many ways Comporium is investing in Transylvania County. Comporium began a 3-year project to upgrade internet infrastructure, including 8,000 customer conversions from DSL to cable modem. Most recently, they contributed to the installation of a free Wi-Fi network in downtown Rosman.
“The upgrades we’ve completed have essentially reinvented the internet experience for our customers,” said Frank Porter, General Manager and City Executive for Comporium. “We want that same experience to be evident in our store, for all to see, hear and touch!”
The Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce will christen the new store with a ribbon cutting on Friday, March 16th at 3pm. Citizens of Transylvania County are invited to join the festivities and see the brand new store for themselves.
