Headquartered in Rock Hill, S.C., Comporium provides services in York, Lancaster, and Chester Counties in Upstate South Carolina; parts of six counties in the Midlands: Lexington, Saluda, Edgefield, Orangeburg, Calhoun and Aiken; and Transylvania County, N.C. Additionally, Comporium offers a comprehensive suite of business communications equipment and service options in Charlotte, N.C and Spartanburg, S.C., plus residential services in Charlotte and Union County, N.C.

David Barnes President –
Chief Executive Officer

David is the President and CEO, having previously served as EVP and CFO.

David began his career with Comporium as an Intern during the summers from 2003 until 2010. In 2015, David joined Comporium full time as a Financial Analyst and in 2017, he was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst. In 2018, David was named Business Development Project Manager and promoted to Director of Production Resources and Innovation in 2019. where he began managing focused projects that improve the Enterprise’s ability to compete in the telecommunications industry while identifying projects that support approved strategic goals.

David's primary role at Comporium is ultimate responsibility for the company's organization, policies and operations. Working within the guidelines set by the company’s board of directors, David oversees corporate strategy, ensures the achievement of corporate objectives, guides the development of new products and new product lines, guarantees maintenance of quality and profit expectations, and safeguards Comporium’s corporate reputation. .

A native of Rock Hill, David graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Financial Management. He was awarded a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Winthrop University. Before joining Comporium full-time, David worked for The Warren Norman Company and at Bank of America as an Operations Analyst.

John is the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer. In addition to serving on the Comporium Board of Directors, he also holds board seats with Home Telecom amd IMS Solutions Group.

John serves the community through his service on the Westminster Towers Board of Directors. John is also an instrumental connection between Comporium and many communities, helping to drive local economic development.

A graduate of The Citadel, John earned a bachelor of science in business administration. He is also the holder of multiple patents.

As Chief Operating Officer, Tim’s primary role is to oversee the management of Comporium’s Operations workgroup throughout the enterprise. This includes business development, sales, customer care, and marketing. Tim also ensure that Comporium has the proper resources, processes, and reporting methods in place to effectively meet the company’s customer service, revenue, and other operating goals in an increasingly competitive market.

Tim has nearly 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. He began working at Comporium in 2001 as a temporary employee. Prior to taking the COO position, he has lead the company in several roles including Director of Interconnection Services and Vice President of Business Development.

Embracing Comporium’s core value of giving back to the communities that it serves; Tim is an active member of the community and also serves on the board of Family Trust FCU. He and his wife, Laura, are long-time residents of Rock Hill.

He earned a master’s degree in economics from University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration with a dual concentration in finance and strategic leadership from Winthrop University.

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Kevin is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. His primary role at Comporium is to provide financial insight as to strategic direction and the outcome of business decisions. His responsibilities include business analysis and decision support, internal and external financial reporting, cash management and banking relationships.

Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following graduation in 1982, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co. as an auditor until 1986 when he joined Springs Industries. At Springs, he served as Vice President – Strategic Planning and Vice President Of Financial Planning and Analysis. Kevin also worked at Spring’s European operations in Belgium and Germany.

Jake, Executive Vice President – General Counsel, joined Comporium in 2014. Before joining Comporium, Jake worked at the law firms Moore & Van Allen PLLC and Diamond McCarthy LLP.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Duke University, a Juris Doctor degree from the Columbia University School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Jake is admitted to practice law in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Texas.

Andrea Cooper Andrea Cooper Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Andrea Cooper is Comporium’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of Human Resources management functions. In her role, She serves as a strategic ally to Comporium’s leadership team, managers, and employees in providing advice, organizational development, business growth, policies and procedures, and other HR matters.

Andrea has been a valued part of the Comporium family since September of 1999 when she joined the company as a Training and Communications Coordinator. In October 2002, she was promoted to Manager of Compensation and Benefits. In March 2008, she was promoted to a Director in Human Resources. In 2019, Cooper was named Vice President of Human Resources.

Cooper, a Seneca, S.C. native, graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and from Pfeiffer University with a master’s degree in Human Resources. In addition to her years of practical experience, she was an instructor at York Technical College, teaching Human Resources courses, for many years. Her experience in the workplace and as an educator continue to prove vital as she leads Comporium’s Human Resources group.

Andrea currently serves as the Board Chair of Keystone Substance Abuse Services and as the current Board President of ChristmasVille. Additionally, she served as chairperson for Come-See-Me and has also held leadership roles with York County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board.
