To run Windows Update in Windows XP, click on the Start menu, then All Programs, then Windows Update. In other versions of Windows, click on the Start menu and then Windows Update. Follow the instructions on the webpage that opens.

To enable Automatic Updates, open your Control Panel and double click on the Automatic Updates icon (If you are using Windows XP, make sure you are in classic view by clicking on Switch to Classic View in the left tab). Select the option to automatically download and install updates.
