Configuring Microsoft Entourage X

  1. Open up Microsoft Entourage and select Tools from the top toolbar and click on Accounts.

  1. When the Account window appears, click on the Mail tab so it is selected, then click the New button above the Mail tab. From the menu that appears, click Mail.

  1. An Account Setup Assistant will appear and it will guide you through the setup process. Type your full name as you want recipients to see it in the field labeled Your Name. Click the right arrow button in the bottom right corner to continue.

 

  1. Type in the e-mail address in the field that says I already have an e-mail address I'd like to use. Click the right arrow button in the bottom right corner to continue.

 

  1. The next window asks you to define what server type you would like to use to receive your mail, IMAP or POP. Select POP.   Then enter the correct mail servers

Incoming: mail.comporium.net

Outgoing: smtp.comporium.net

 

  1. Type your e-mail account user name in the field labeled Account ID . In this example, if your e-mail address is test@umd.edu, your user name will be test. If you would like Entourage to remember your password so you do not have to enter it each time you check your mail, enter it in the Password box, and check Save password in my MAC OS Keychain box. Click the right arrow button in the bottom right corner to continue.

 

  1. Enter a simple name you can use to identify this account by in the field labeled Account Name. Check the box labled Include this account in my Send & Receive All schedule. Click the Finish button to complete setup.

 

  1. Click Finish.  Entourage will attempt to connect to the server and get the user’s e-mail.

  1. Mail setup has completed. The user should be able to send and receive mail at this time.
